Featuring fashion collections from Malon Marius and Aurelia Fontan, GAIA EXRTH is a publication collection that looks at the two sides of exploration and womxn's pursuit for a new, safer matriarchal world.

 

Each fashion collection featured ideas centred around femininity, the future or exploration. Approached by the fashion photographer Rhianna Thomas to collate the two photography series into a publication. I brought these themes from the fashion designers into a narrative for the brief, telling the story of two utopian alien planets and the relationship between the explorers, natives and the Mother Gaia that embody them. 

 

This led to the designing and production of two publications: While MOTHER EX1RTH depicts the beauty and vibrancy of such a conquest, MOTHER EX2RTH investigates the powerful, more dangerous side. The collection is unified through a vivid visual style that experiments with collage, abstractionism, and dimension. Motifs of reflections and distortion within the photography collections are carried through to the designs and again in the photography of the publications.

I was responsible for writing the text, designing the layout, type, covers and further digitally manipulating the photographs. I also carried through the physical print and production and the photography of these publications.
