A poster design for York creative and events collective Field Trip. Featuring an all femxle line-up, Girl Talk was launched to create a space for womxn DJs in an industry dominated by men.

With only the Instagram page of Field Trip for direction, the poster took inspiration from the recurring visuals of flowers. Motion blur was used to evoke the sense of dancing and the fast paced nature of the night, while a digital glitch aesthetic was also used, in reference to the music of the night - electronic breaks and garage.

I wanted the tone to be playful, bright and powerful - the traits I associate with strongly as a woman - which is presented through the choice of colours, star visual details and the type and flowers made with a metallic quality.
